Nursery Classrooms

Our classrooms are bright, spacious, and well equipped with Montessori materials and other educational toys and puzzles to create and initiate activities and to use imagination to the fullest.

1. Sunflowers… The class for Beginners
Children from the age of 18 to 30 months are accepted in Sunflowers. The aim is to help the children to learn to communicate, socialize, and over come the anxiety of being away from parents. Children are introduced to the simpler Montessori activities like pouring, transferring, grading, etc.

The curriculum in Sunflowers focuses on Practical Life and Sensorial activities with different themes that help make these activities meaningful. Children are informally exposed to numbers and alphabets through nursery rhymes and songs. They are also introduced to basic shapes and colours before they move on to the advanced class – Blue Oceans.

2. Blue Oceans… The Advanced Class
Children from the age of 2 1/2 to 5 years are accepted in Blue Oceans. The curriculum covers all the five areas, formally introducing the children to reading and writing of the alphabets and the numerals. These children are well acquainted with the Montessori Philosophy and are ready for independent use of all Montessori material like sand paper alphabets and numerals, geometric cabinet, constructive triangle boxes, etc.

The themes introduced serve as a preparatory phase to life and social sciences. Show and Tell is the favourite topic of most of the children where in they subconciously enhance their public speaking skills in a very casual manner. All the basic activities like work cycle, social skills, and grace, etc. are reinforced in the children regularly.

Art and craft form an integral part of a child’s (add apostrophe in the original) overall development. We lay a lot of emphasis on this aspect in order to enhance the creativity of the child. The children have an easy access to different materials like play dough, finger printing, sponge painting, fruit & vegetable painting colouring, gluing, using glitters, sequences, ribbons , etc.

We celebrate all the festivals irrespective of any religion exposing the children to different cultures through art and craft, non-fire cooking, and dress codes.
